The Australian Light Horse regiments are all armed as Mounted Infantry, and, as our picture shows, carry bayonets. This photograph depicts a New South Wales trooper completely equipped for the march. An English General in the Boer War declared that the Australian troops, while invariably good horsemen, were not always good horse-masters. The proper care of the horse on active service is a matter of vast importance, and it is satisfactory to know that in the training operations in the various States this fact is not being overlooked.
