Advertising : 1 wordsFifty-six motor cars took part in the second reliability contest, extending over ten days, and in spite of minor perils and accidents all reached Melbourne safely on Saturday with three exceptions, two due to mechanical troubles, and one through the generous action of the owner in abandoning the trip to bring two sick men back to Melbourne. The tour had many interesting and exciting moments. At [?] where the company halted for a couple of days, most of those who took-part had to camp in tents or in the open, and there were many thrills in crossing the Alps to Mount Buffalo. Snowdrifts had been cut through by the men of the Country Roads Board, and the motorists amused themselves with snowballs. On the way home from Buffalo a flying speed test over a mile was made, and a hill climb up the Buckland-Gap on the road to Beechworth took place. 1. The Oakland [?] to the water at Cobu[?] 2.
