sented being Clare, Barunga, Bala-
klava, Brinkworth, Thebarton, and
individual members from other lod-
ges including an Irish lodge.
The ceremony was conducted by
R.W. Bro. N. S. Laffer, Junior Grand
Warden, with R.W. Bro. Cullen as
Director of Ceremonies, assisted by
Grand Lodge officers from Adelaide
and the surrounding districts. After
the ceremony Worshipful Master W.

Mugge; Stewards, Bros. H. R.
Steinhardt, H. T. Chapman, M. R.
'Williams, T. Williams; Tyler, Bro.
P. O. Pedler.
After the ceremony an adjourn
ment was made to the main hall,
where a sumptuous banquet had
been provided by the Blyth ladies
(who are renowned for the excel-
lence of their service in matters of
this kind) and enjoyed by all. The
tables and walls were decorated with
'beautiful blooms of all descriptions.
A number of toasts were 'honor
ed, that of 'The King' being pro-
posed by the Worshipful
Master. 'The Most Worshipful the
Grand Master and officers of Grand
Lodge, coupled with the name of
R.W., Bro. N. S. Laffer, J.G.W., In- .
stalling Master,' was proposed by
Wpl. Bro. A. L. McEwin, who re-
ferred to the splendid work done by
the officers of Grand Lodge, includ-
ing Most Worshipful Brother Napier,
B.W. Bro. Bayley and others. R.W.
Bro. Laffer, they would all agree,
had conducted the ceremony that
night with dignity and sincerity,'
which they appreciated, and also the
services of Grand Lodge to country
lodges.
R.W. Bro. Laffer responded, ex-
pressing appreciation of the re-
marks of Wpl. Bro. McEwin, and
he would convey the same to Grand
Lodge, the officers of which did an
enormous amount of work for the
various lodges. He congratulated
the ladies upon their fine banquet
provided' and upon the decorations.
He said every lodge was the same to
him. The Blyth Lodge was their
baby lodge, the youngest in the con-
stitution, and in consequence they
had taken great interest in it, and he
expressed his sincere hope that their
future would be bright and rosy.
He also gave a short address with
respect to Masonry.
Wpl. Bro. L. V. Harmer proposed
the toast of 'The Worshipful Mas-
ter,' and was pleased that so worthy
and distinguished a brother had been
placed in the chair as Master. Bro.
Eime had joined the Clare Lodge in
1927, and had taken a very keen in
terest in the craft. The honor con-
ferred on him was well deserved.
All spoke highly of him, and he
hoped he would have a successful
year of office. As a townsman he
had done much good work, being
chairman of the Hospital Board, and
president of the show, and in other
respects had also done good work.
He was also a director of the Eu-
dunda Farmers' Co-operative Society.
- They wanted men of his stamp to
push things forward.
Wpl. Bro. Eime in responding,
said it was the proudest moment of
his life, and he was highly honored
in being made master of the lodge.
It was good for a man to become a
Freemason, and since 1927 he had
taken great interest in it. He ex-
pressed appreciation of the good
work done by the ladies. Referring
to his officers he said he had a fine
team, and with their assistance he
would endeavor to maintain the high
traditions of the lodge, and thanked
Wpl. Bro. Harmer for his remarks,
and Bro. Williamson for coming from
Adelaide to his installation.
Wpl. Bro. J. S. McEwin proposed
the toast of 'The Immediate Past
Master,' referring to the many good
qualities of Wpl. Bro. L. C. Mugge,
and his work as master of the lodge.
They had high traditions to look back
to, and Bro. Mugge had upheld
them and was held in high respect.
Wpl. Bro. L. C. Mugge responded,
and thanked the proposer of the
toast. His term as master had been
a pleasant one, and he thanked the
officers and brethren who had assis-
ted him. They had made his work
lighter, and he was indebted much to
Wpl. Bro. L. V. Harmer for his help.
Wpl. Bro. J. W. Ohlmeyer propos-
ed 'The officers for the Year,' and
said they were fortunate in them, as
the master's brother and Bro, Eld-
redge and others had done good
work in the past year, and would do
the same in their respective posi-
tions during the present year.
Bro. H. W. Eime responded,
thanking the proposer of the toast,
and appreciated the good work he
had done for the lodge as Director
of Ceremonies.
The toast of 'The Visitors' was
proposed by Bro. D. C. Eldredge,
and responded to by the masters of
the visiting lodges.
The Tyler's toast was proposed by
Bro. P. O. Pedler.
The Worshipful Master referred to
the great assistance rendered
by Wpl. Bro. J. W. Ohl-
meyer, as Director of Ceremonies
to the Blyth lodge during the past
two years, and presented him with
a Masonic Satchell on behalf of the
members of the lodge. Wpl. Bro.
Ohlmeyer expressed his thanks for
their appreciation of his services,
and said he would still attend the
lodge as often as possible.
During the evening two songs
were excellently rendered by Bro.
Williamson, for each of which he
was encored. A euphonium solo was
well played by Bro. P. O. Pedler.
and this was also encored
' Bro. H. Snow rendered a song excel-
lently and was recalled. Wpl. Bro.
W. O. Eime gave two favorite reci-
tations which were greatly appreci-
ated, and were received with
laughter and applause.
