Modem furnishings and conven
iences are features of two holiday
cottages the S.A. Railways has built
a.t Port Lincoln for its employees.
The superintendent of the Port Lin
coln division (Mr. F. ,s. Wilkinson)
showed a representative of the ' Port
Lincoln Times' over one of the
houses this week.

be the envy of any housewife. It
was furnished -with.- tubular steel

fngsrator, built in cupboards and
weed stove. An electric iron, cut
lery and cooking utensils are provid
ed.
Railwaymen and their families
who stay at the cottages need bring -
only their food and linen.
The three bedrooms have six beds
and a cot, with combination ward
robes and dressing tables. A linen
press holds quilts and four blankets
for each. bed.
Tubular steel chairs and settee, in
laid lino and a radiator, nre provided
ror sitting- room comfort.
Conveniences include built-in tiled
bath, with heater and wash fcowl,
copper, and two compartment wash
trough.
Wives of Railways Institute com
mitteemen, under Mrs. F. S Wilkin
son, anranged the furniture and
curtains.
Rental for the cottages will be £3
10/- a week and ^reference will bs
given to Eyre Peninsula railwaymen
wishing to use them on their annual
leave.
- The premises will be fenced at a
later date.
The' Railways Commi.Voner had
also built fcur holiday cottages at
Largs Bay, and it is anticipated
that four will be erected at Bridge
watsr.
