M.L.C. DROPPED

A.LP. BALLOT
SYDNEY, Friday.—Mr. Colin
Tannock, M.L.C., has been drop
ped from the official AX.P. team
to contest the ballot for 15 vac
ancies in the Legislative Coun
cil on November 29.
The N.S.W. executve of the
A.LJP. tonight selected Mr. W.
T, Murray, a salaried officer of
the Railways Department in
his place.
The executive selected seven 1
Dther retiring M's.L.C. to con
test the ballot. They are:
Messrs. J. A. Ferguson, J. D.
Kenny. W. E. Dickson, R. Down
ing, S. C. Williams, D. Coch
rane and C. H. Hackett.
The executive selected eight
candidates, because, under the
vbting system, they can win
only eight positions.
Mr. Tannock, a former N.S.W.
secretary of the Federated
Ironworkers' Assocation, has
been an M.L.C. for 20 years.
Tonight, he declined to com
ment on the executive's de
cision. *
