LAUNCESTON Y.M.C.A.
A GOOD YEAR'S WORK
Tnere was only a fair attendance at
tae 16th annual meeting of the Laun
ceston Y.M.C.A. hold in the lecture
room last evening, the president (Mr.
P. O,. Fysh) occupying the chair.
Apologies were received from Mrs. P.
0. 'y.sh sen. (president of the Ladies'
Auxiliary), Rev. If. Watts Grimmett,
Sir John i'rascr (vice-president), and
the hen. treasurer (Mr. A. E. Nilsson).
Mr. Selwyn Cox opened the meet
ing with prayer.
In moving the adoption of the re
ports and balance-sheet, which have
I already appeared in "Phe Examiner."
the president said that excellent work
had been done during the year, espec
lally by the members of the Ladies'
Auxiliary. Strict economy had been
observed in the way of expenditure.
Great work had again been done by
the general secretary, Mr. W. H. Al
cock. He had come to the rescue of
the association at a time when ser
*vices such as his were badly needed.
with the result that in the last two
i years the association had balanced its
yt fdget, and it was at present in the
happy position of owing nothing.
The motion was seconded by Mr. F.
Tyson and carried.
Three directors, Messrs. W. T. Grace
and P. C. Mattingly and Dr. A. O. V.
Tymms, having resigned, it was agreed
to leave the matter of filling the va
cancies to the directors as nominations
for the positions were received. Messrs.
Geo. Cleaver and James Fotheringham
were re-elected auditors.
A comprehensive vote of thanks to
all who had assisted the assoclation
during the year was carried on the
motion of Mr. Selwyn Cox, seconded by
Mr. W. Fotheringham.
The Benediction, pronounced by Mr.
T. A. Tanner, concluded the meeting.
