SYDNEY COMPOSITORS' STRIKE.
OFFICIALLY DECLARED OFF.
Sydney, November 19.
The printers' strike which has existed
for several TOOks was officially declared
off to-day. iHae secretary of the Typo
graphical Association forwarded the fol
lowing letter to the secretary of the
Master Printers' Association : —
I am to-day in receipt of a oommanieation
from the executive council of the Australasian

have officially declared the strike off, and that
the mimiinum rate of £2 12s. per week of 48
hours may be accepted by the members of our
association. The services of our members
being now at the disposal of the Master
Printers' Association I woulcl earnestly
impress upon you the desire of the members
to resume their old positions and to restore the
friendly relations which have hitherto existed
between the two bodies. I trust that the
late dispute may soon be forgotten and that
reprisals may be avoided by all parties inte
rested.
The strikers, it will be remembered,
were holding out for £2 16s. as the
minimum wage. At a meeting of the
Master Printers' Association to-day the
letter from the Typographical Association
declaring the strike off was received. The
committee who had acted during the late
difficulty resigned, having completed the
work taken in hand. It was decided to
form a permanent Master Printers'
Association,
