Mr. F. W. Gitsham
The death occurred recently of Mr.
F. W. Gitsham of Prospect after a
long illness. He had a varied career.
Born at Gawler 64 years ago, he entered
the service of the South Australian rail
ways at the age of 12 as junior opera
tor at Stockport. In 1896 he married
Miss Ethel Burton, of Wallaroo. After
having been stationmaster at various
towns, he was transferred to Islington
as telegraph operator, and subsequently
settled at Prospect. A widow survives,
also four sons — Jack (Mt. Gambier),
Burton (Renmark), Stewart and Don
ald (Prospect) — and one daughter, Ali
son.
