"BEAST OF BELSEN" SIGNS
CONFESSION OF WAR CRIMES
LONDON (A.A.P.).-Ex-commander of the Belsen concen
tration camp, Kramer, who is awaiting trial at Cel!e, has sign
ed a statement confessing his war crimes, says Reuters corres
pondent in Germany.
THE TEXT cannot be disclosed at
present, because it might prejudice
his trial, but it is stated on good
authority that Kramer is involed in
other war crimes apart from the Beli
sen camp.
The statement will be.read at the
Belsen trial.
Klramer is in prison with 47 others,
with whom he will be jolntly charged
with ill-treating and causing the death
of 20.000 persons.
The trial is not likely to begin on
the scheduled date next Sunday but
is more likely to start ,arly in Sep
tember. The dossier is still in Lon
don.
