Public Opinion
New Zealand and
Reciprocity.
To the Editor.
Sir,-I notice in your Friday's issue
a message from Mr. James Railton
urging the removal of the embargo
upon potatoes from New Zealand. I
think in view of New Zealand's re
fusal to link up with the Common
wealth in the past, and the low aver
age price obtainable for potatoes in
the States, that the embargo should
not be lifted. Also, the reciprocity of
which Mr. Railton speaks is not by
any means a "quid pro quo" (citrus
fruits versus potatoes).-Yours, etc.,
THE MAN IN THE STREET.
Cooee.
