A WARNTNG.— Do you suffer from
phyacali ncap&city f Are your suffering
from, nervous debility? Have you been the -
guilty victim of any secret vice ? Do you suffer
from a set of symptoms nearly akin more or less
to the following :— A pretty fair condition of
health, not 'positively 111, but a feeling upon
you that you axe not quite right, a malaise; i
tendency to despondency; a slight occasional
loss of menioiy ; sometimes a weakness across
the small of the back and loins ; on waking a
feeling as if unrefreshed; a general depression
—a want of pluck as it were ; less desire for
business than formerly; and you are troubled
with a certain feeling of nervousness-^ loss of
power?- ' ?-..? ???- ?-? ?.?!-.. ??:.?! ?? ' ;
If you are to be warned in time you have now
the means and opportunity of being restored to
health. It is at this stage that your disease, bj
? tamely application of remedies and regiment
': «au be eradicated, and your system invigorated
your manhood restored to that state that you
may and can fulfil the duties required of you bj
your social and moral being. Be warned, also, .
to whom yon apply. . There arc two rocks upos -
- which you may split— the one being th*
legally qualified practitioner, who although :
fully qualified by his knowledge of his pro
~ fession to treat the -various general ail
? menta of humanity, yet is totally ignorant
(as the majority of them unfortuoately are) ef
this peculiar branch of bis science, the reason
being that he has never made it his peculiar
tudy ; and the other rock is the blatant charlai
ten and quack, who preys on the pockets and .'
fives of his victims. These individuals assume
titles to which they nave not the slightest pre
.. tension, and are for. the most part men evei
without the ordinary common rudiments
... education, who, by their forceof impudence 'and
advertising, irretrievably ruin the small re
sains of health of the soor deluded 'victims.
Dr. L. L. SMITH, who has been established
since 1851, has stepped, perhaps, ke acknow
ledges, out of the routine of his profession by.
thus advertising, but he Stems' it better to give
an unfortunate fellow-being who has erred.
. ; (once, perhaps, only in the course of his life) an
opportunity of at least being capable of discri
? .wfiiwn.t'T'g for tiimanlf » of ascertaining for him
: self out of the mass of charlatanism, at least
. one practitioner who has devoted his time,
money, and study to this peculiar branch of hie
profession, and one who is a legally-qualified:
' practitioner, and member of the Medical Board
of Victoria.
Dr. L. L. SMITH has now been In practice in
~ - Victoria for the last 14 years. He was formerly
a pupil and practised under the celebrates
Dr. CulverwelL of London, so well known fo
- his skill in the treatment of those disea « for
which LaHeutand, Sioord, and 'himself were,
contemporaries. Dr, It L. Smith has the ;aiost
».' extensive practice, extending through -the whele
of Victoria, New South Wales,. South Australia,
Tasmania, and New Zealand. . Dr. L. it Smith :
has new established his extensive ' practice
through his admirable system of oorrespoHdisg
by letter. By enclosing a £1 Bank-note, an
,-?'. answer and oonsultataonfa immediately returned
by next post. Three hours in the .day are
,1 joontinuoualy devoted -to this branch of Dr
Smith's practice. ?? ' ' ,.
.-' Dr. Ib L. SMITH'S Establishments are well.
. known to all visitors to Victoria. His exten.
.? jdve library for irefererice has even heen praised
by the public preBS. His extensive anatomical
museum is well known, and Xtav L. L. Smeeh'e
/.reputation alone as a' lecturer oh physiologicaJ

the public that those who entrust their case
.: in his hands will, to - say the least, -hive a
guarantee that they place there/in the caire of

and physiology of the human body and its mys
terious -workings, and therefore, irrespective of
: his reputation for curing these diseases, lie is at
least a competent person to attempt, the cure of
/them. Dr. L, L. Smech takes £he greatest pre

JLL ..; HOLLOWAY'S PILLS.
FBIENDS AND FElLIiOW-COUNTBYMEN.
Most of you now residing at the Antipodes
have no deubt often seen your parents use these
Household Medicines both for you and them
solves ; yon and your children will act wisely n
following their example. Thomas Hoilowat
DEBANGEMENT OP THE BOWELS, UVIB AND
STOMACH OOMPLAUJTB.
This Medicine is so well known in every part
oi the world, and the cures effected by its use
are so wonderful as. to astonish every one. Its
pre-eminence as a remedy for bilious and liver
Complaints and derangement of the stomach
and bbweiB is no longer a matter of dispute or
doubt. In these diseases the beneficial effects of
Holloway'B invaluable Pills are so permanent
and extensive 'that the whole -system., is reno
vated, the organs of digestion strengthened,
and full and easy assimilation promoted, so that
both physical and moral energy are increased.
DETERMINATION OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD.
: This s generally occasioned by some irregu
larity of the' stomach and bowels, which, if not
quickly attended to, frequently terminates
fatally. A few doses of these famous I*ills never
fail to give tone to the stomach, regularity to
the secretions', andpurity to the fluids. Vertigo,
'dimness of sight, and other Indications of ap
proaching aooplexy are entirely dissipated by a.
course of this admirable Medicine. i
For -all debilitating disorders peculiar to the
sex, and in «very contingency perilous to the life
this mild but speedy remedy is recommended
with friendly earnestness. It will correct aU
functional derangements to which they are sub-:
ject.
SCTBOFUIiA AND AU. SKIN DISESES.
Forall skin diseases, however inveterate, these
Medicines are a sovereign remedy. While the
Pills act upon the blood, which they purify, the
Ointment passes through the pores of the skin,
:and Cleanses every structure, as water saturates
the soil or as salt penetrates meat. The whole
physical machinery is thus rendered healthy,
regular, and vigorous. - :
COUGHS, OOEDS, AND ASTHMAS.
No Medicine will cure colds of long duration
or such as are settled upon the chest so quickly
as these famous : Pills. Even in cases where thy
first stage of asthma has appeared these PiHe
jmay beielied on as a certain and never-failing
remedy, particularly if the Ointment be simul
taneously well rubbed into the chest and throat
wight sunk morning.
j JKDIQBSTION — BJOJOOS HEADACHE _
. These complaints are sometimes considered
trifling, but it should be borne in mind that by
-inattention and neglect they often end most
seriously. Give early thought to a deranged
stomach, take {xjolloway's Pills, .rob ' his cele
brated Ointment over time pit of the stomach,- and
yon will shortly perceive a change for the better
inyon digestion, spirits, appetite, strength, and
energy. The improvement, though it may be
gradual, will .be thorough and lasting.
