MURRAY-GOULBURN SCHEME.
TO-DAY'S CONFERENCE.
A meeting of the executive committee of
this league was held yesterday afternoon in
the mayor's room. The mayor (Cr. Hoskins)
was in the chair, and there was a full attend
ance of members. The chief business before
the meeting was the consideration of the Rail
ways Standing Committee's report on the pro
posed scheme for supplying the mallee with
water from the Goulburn river. The pro
ceedings, which were lengthy, were conducted
in camera. It is understood that the general
feeling was one of dissatisfaction at the
recommendations of the Railways Standing
Committee, which were held to be inadequate.
The result of the deliberations of the com
mittee will be embodied in a report to be sub
mitted to a conference of the whole of the
bodies interested, which will by held in the
Town Hall at 2 p.m. to-day.
