KAD1NA.
October 10. — On Monday night the dis
trict officers of the Ancient Order of
Forester* paid a visit to the local branch,
Court Littlejohn. There was an excellent
attendance. A torchlight procession wended
its way through the principal streets to the
Town Hall, where a social was held. The
Mayor presided. The District Chief Ranger
(Bro. R.-K. Thomson) said they were gain
ing in numbers and funds. Court Little
john was a live court, and had a member
ship of 372, with funds equal to £12 per
member. The past quarter's transactions
had returned a profit of £70, and he hoped
they would continue to prosper. District
Secretary Brunell gave an address on the
history of the order, and District Sub-Chief
Ranger Bro. Pounsett spoke on the juve
nile courts. Songs were given by Mies O.
Johnson, and Messrs. R. K, Thomson and
B. Wakelin; pianoforte selections bj Miss
Stocker, and a recitation by Mrs. Snell.
After partaking of refreshments a couple
of hours' dancing was indulged in, Messrs.
Hardy and W. WaVd directing ceremonies.
The gathering was most successful and en
joyable.
