There was ;a full attendance of delegate?
?when the annual me^tipig of the South JTus
tralian Bowling- Association was held on
Saturday eveningi Mr. JS. Creswell :wai
voted to the chair. An application from
the Port Central cluh lor admission^ was
endorsed. The secretary and treasurer
(Mr. O. P. Moody) read his report; -which
referred to the gratifying progress the game
had made last season, and the prospects ot
still further advancement. The financial
statement showed that after making a Bpe
cial levy on the clubs for entertainment pur
poses the year had closed with the figures
about even. The report and balance-sheet
were adopted. The following. offi
cers were elected: — Patron, Sir
Edwin Smith; .president, Mr. S.
J. Jacobs: secretary and treasurer, Mr.
C. P. Moody; auditor, Mr. T. C. Walker,
F.I.A.S.A.; executive committee, the presi.
dent and secretary, and the secretary or
other nominee of each associated ciub; se
lection committee, Messrs. C. P. Moody, A.
Barrett, J. Bower, D. B. Rowley, and P.
Goudie.
It was decided to promote A ana B pen
nant competitions. A letter was received
from the Adelaide club suggesting a diminu
tion in the number of matches, and asking
that the games should be played on alter
nate Saturdays. Neither suggestion was
adopted, and it was agreed that the matches
should be played on the same principle as
last year's.
The secretary reported on the correspon
dence which he had had regarding the visit
of « New Zealand team at the end of the
month, and he was authorised to arrange
dates for the matches. It was felt that the
visitors should be entertained on the even
in-r of the inter-State contest, and the presi
dent offered to give them a dinner. The
offer was gratefully accepted. Messrs! Cres
well. Moody, and A. C. Thomas were ap
pointed a 'sub-committee to decide the
greens on which the matches should be
played.
A letter was received from the New
South Wales Association inviting South
Australia to send a teuin to Sydney this
season. As enquiries had already been
made it was resolved to inform the New
South Wales authorities that the associa
tion regretted that it was impossible to get
a, repretentative team together this year,
hut would send one as soon as it could
possibly be arranged.
A meeting of the executive committee
was subsequently held, and the pennant
programme was drawn up. The games will
begin on November 3 and finish in Febru
ary. All nine clubs entered teams for the
A pennant, while for the B grade the com
petitors will be Adelaide, Adelaide Oval,
Sturt, East Torrens, Hindmarsh, and Semn
nhore. Messrs. Creswell, Moody, and
Thomas were appointed a permit com
mittee.
