The Battalion Queans,
MISS E SINCLAIR WINS.
.The final day of the R.S.A Appeal
closed on Wednesday evening with a
Paddy's Market, held in the Drill
Hall. Towards midnight the voting
for the Battalion Queen Competition
closed, when the poll clerks, Messrs
H Bennett and F W Steere, announ
ced the following results :
Miss E Sinclair, 28 Battalion, 25,
811 ; Miss Wallis, 10th Light Horse,
20,336 ; Mrs Badham, nth Battalion,
19,016. Each regal lady was loudly
cheered by the large audience, and
great excitement marked the closing
of the voting. From 3 p.m. the
hall presented a busy sight and the
four stalls, ran respectively by the
Salvation Army and the, three queens,
did a good business, but even then
there was a plethora of good things,
so the able services of Mr J E
Hands were commandeered and his
persuasive tongue enabled a clean
sweep at satisfactory prices to be
made. The gross results of the
election will add £270 to the fund.
