NEWS AND NOTES.
Comet Motors, Ltd., will be showing the
Rugby and,Durant, and the Mason Road
King truck (if shipments of the latter ar
rive in time) at the Royal Show Grounds. -
Visitors from the country will do well to
look out for this show, for. rapidly as the
Rugby is selling, there are still some por
tions of the country which the energetic
salesmen have not been able to reach and
demonstrate the Rugby and Durant.
A four-cylinder Buick touring car nas
been delivered to Mr. F. C. Cavalier, of
Balingup. This car is fitted with a Holden
body, and painted the standard Buick grey.
Mr. C. O. Bland, of Yoting, came to
Perth last week and drove home in a. new
Buick Six with black enamelled American'
body. ?
Messrs. James Eastwood Ltd. have pur
chased a 10-h.p. Swift car for the use of
their travellers. This economically running
English car is becoming popular with PertK
firms.
Mr. A. J. Withers, of Merredin, has
taken delivery of a Jewett Standard. This
is a repeat order.
At the Royal Show this year there will
be many hundreds of farmers whose pre
sence will be made possible by the use of i
the Fordson tractor and the Ford car. The j
bigger acreage and better ploughing poss
ible by the aid . of ? the Ford
son tractor will have enabled them to
put some of the extra profits into a Ford
car, and. having their farming work over
earlier they will have the Ford car down
to convey them instead of lumbepng along
in the train. Time schedules arc nothing
in the life of men who~\-wn Fords!
The oldest G.M.C. truck on the Mtrrohi
son is still doing the same remarkably effi
cient work as characterised its entry into
that district. It will be remembered that
it was this truck that always carried full
loads over the heaviest of going, without
ever being stuck up, , and without % neces
sitating the usual expenses for repairs and
renewals.
Craik's body works will be exhibiting at
th» Royal bhow several bodies of their own
construction, mounted on Hupmobile
chassis.
j Ventura Motors Ltd. are making a spt»
cial show of Hupmobile cars during Show
week at their own showrooms in Milligan
street, displaying five cars, in different co
lored finishes. The standard_ model and
'disc wheel will be exhibited side by side,
I also a chassis, which will enable those who

Overland and Willys Knight owners are
being well catered for by the local distri
butors. The Thursday night classes arc
fast becoming popular. Last week 32 own
ers attended a lecture on 'The Care of
the Battery,' which was given by Mr.
Klrby- of tie Kirby Accumulator Company.
The instruction given by Mr. Kirby on this
particular subject was greatly appreciated
by all those who attended.
Armstrong's new# Murray-street show

they expect to be showing Studebaker ears [
in 'their proper surroundings by Novem
ber 1.
Mr. W. H. Richards, of Argyle,. decided
that a car capable of crossing the Austra
lian continent without mishap was good
enough for him, so this week he bought R

Messrs. Murray, Home and Hill have|
just returned from a 2,000-mile trip to;
Carnarvon, undertaken in a Bean Fourteen.

Distinguishing himself by running third
in the classic Beverley to Perth Road
Cycle Race, Mr. W. E. Body, of Subiaco,
celebrated this past week by buying a
Rugby car. He will find th_e Rugby infirm

of the push variety.
Mr. George Bee, carrier, of FremantJe,
has taken delivery of an International 25
cwt. Speed truck. Mr. Bee is to be seen
daily on the road betwen Fremantle and
Perth.

den, a Hupinohile, driven by Zachrisson,
was fastest in the 3,000 c.c claas.
The Peninsular Motors^ of Tampa, Flo
rida, claim to have driven a 'Light Six'.

The Vulcan truck and the Bean Fourteen
will both be exhibited at the Royal Show.
Visitors should not miss the oppprtnniity

The Fremantle ^ Providoring Co., who

have taken a ,30-cwt. mo^4 Vulcan track
for use in their business.
Mr. G. Deans marked his taking over the
management of Charles Moore and Co. by
selecting a new 'Light Six' Studebaker
fitted de luxe.
A new char-a-banc will shortly be seen
on the roads near Albany, Messrs. Skreins
motor, service having' bought a 25 passen
ger Vulcan truck, for use at the port,
through the agency of Mr. Geo: Manley.
