OVERSEAS
LEAGUE MEETS
The Overseas League, 'the larg
est patriotic body in the world,'
held a highly successful annual
meeting at the club rooms .on Mon
day night. Today the League has
more than 50,000 financial members
and 500 branches.
The room was filled with members
and visitors from the Victoria League,
iie English Speaking Union, and the
Public Schools' Association. Lieuten
ant-Gcneral Sir J. Talbot Hobbs was
in the chair, and he complimented the
league on its wonderful progress.
The Overseas League, he said,
was a power in the world today
and was a great link of Empire.
The following office bearers were
elected for the coming year:
President, Mr. Arthur Bishop. F.I.C.:

After the meeting the president en
tertained the committee and friends to
supper at the Stirling Rooms, where
toasts were proposed and honored.
