From Balcony to Pavement
CRITERION HOTEL ACCIDENT
Manager Seriously Injured
. Shortly before noon to-day Mr. P.
Graham, manager of the Criterion Hotel,
was seriously injured as' a result of fall
ing headlong from the balcony of his hotel
to the Hay-btreel. pavement, a distance of
about 15 feet. Mr. Graham was- picked
up in an unconscious state, and bleeding
profusely from face and head, was hur
ried to the Westminster Hospital, where he
now lies in a terious condition.

ly what happened to cause Mr. Graham's
'fall. It is Understood, however, that a
person on the opposite side of the street

his dressing gown, and had a newspaper
in his hand, approach the hotel Dalcony

The fact that Mr. Graham had been suf
fering, a recurrence of malaria, or fever
of some sort, which induced a tempera
ture, and was confined to bis room, mi^hfe
easily have- brought on
An Attack of Giddiness
as he leaned over the balcony rail. An
employe had spoken to Mr. Graham only
a- couple of minutes before the accident
occurred. He was then reading a news
paper, and was in quite his usual normal
state of mind.
In aflidtion to being extremely well
liked by the hotel staff, Mr. Graham is
highly popular with patrons and in Perth
business circles. Everyone will wish him
a complete and speedy recovery.
