CALENDAR
CHANGE
PROPOSED
If a' resolution proposed by the
Subiaco branch of the Australian
Natives'- Association were officially
adopted five days in every four years
would not have an ordinary weekday
name.
Four of them would be Known as
'Year Day' and the other as 'Leap
Day.'
The Institution of a perpetual
calendar, which would- bring this
about will be discussed by the
A.N.A. during its annual confer
ence which will begin on October
5.
The Subiaco branch will suggest that
the calendar come into force on Sun
day, January 1, 1939. Under it the
months of January, April, July and
October would consist of 31 days and
all other months of 30 days.
An additional day known as 'Year
Day' would be inserted after Saturday,
December 30, and before Sunday,
January 1, each year following, to
make the 365 days of the year. 'Leap
Day' would be added after June 30 and
before July 1 in Leap Year.
