LONDON, Wednesday.
Six British residents of
Germany including the chief
Berlin correspondent of The
Daily Telegraph, Mr. Greene,
have been ordered to leave
Germany by May 24.
This follows the expulsion of Ger
mans from Britain last week and the
announcement yesterday that at least
50 more Nazis would be expelled from
England this month.
A German statement is made
that 'further unjustifiable expul
sions from Britain will meet with
similar reprisals as a measure of
self-respect.'
Among those expelled from Ger
many today are Mr. H. Large, director
of the Nugget boot polii h factory at
Cologne; two other business men, a
language teacher and an engineer.
The German Government empha
sises that the expulsion of Mr.
Greene is not a reflection on his jour
nalistic work nor on the policy of
The Daily Telegraph.
The Daily Telegraph states today
that a number of German journalists
are likely to be asked to leave Eng
land because of their political
activity.
