Here, by permission of J.Albert and Son, Ltd.,
owners of the copyright, we start telling you
all you need to know about dancing "The
Chestnut Tree", newest dance fad of international
socialites and "the thing to do" in
ballrooms and dancehalls this season. It's
not so hard to do once you know how to go
about it; pep and animation are the main
requisites. Follow the style of Renee Esler
and Gerald McMorrow (W.A. Professional
Champions, 1936-7-8), who are also responsible
for all the explanatory letterpress, and
you won't go wrong.
Couples face line of dance, man on woman's left. Man's
right arm around woman's waist, woman's left arm around
his. Man starts with left foot, woman with right. Steps
described here are for the man; all the woman's steps start
on the opposite foot, "Hop" step is similar to a polka hop.
