A collection of 350 framed
studies of West Australian
wildflowers has been presen
ted by the artist, Mrs. Max
well Kelly, to the State Gar
dens Board.
The collection is being hung at ?
the McNess Hostel, Yanehep, as a
perpetual memorial to her son,
Cyril Ha'rv.ey Kelly, who lost his
life in the Great War.
A bronze plaque will contain the
dedication of the . exhibition.
Alterations to the top floor of the
McNess Hostel have been made to
turn it into a gallery suitable to re
ceive the valuable collection.
The ceiling has been raised, wide
dormer windows made, and the elec
tric lighting suitably arranged.
Mrs. Kelly's collection will be open
for inspection on Good Friday. A
small charge will be made, for inspec
tion of the gallery.
Of the charge made Mrs. Kelly
will receive 25 per cent, during
her lifetime and that sum she
will devote to the welfare of
infants.
After her death the Government
will continue to contribute 25 per
cent, of the revenue to the same cause
in perpetuity.
