MONDAY, AUGUST 23.
Present — The Colonial Surgeon (in the chair), the Very Rev.
Mr. Ryan, the Rev. Mr. Gardner, the Rev. R. Haining, the
Very Rev. the Dean, and Dr. Duncan.
The RELIEVING OFFICER reported that he had mide en
quines respecting Lllen Gibbon and John Batch the latter of
ii horn had applied for his Aide, and could not recommend

relief of Lucretia Weller who had been deserted by her
husband and was liable to fits She was perfectly unable to
do anything to support herself, or even to to take care of herself.
She had a large family.
Enquiries to be made respecting her father's cicumstances
and also as to some property of her husbands said to be
held by Mr Andrews.
