LABOE POSITION IN N.S.W.
SYDNEY, Monday.
Ihe executive of the A.L.P. appears to
be in no wise perturbed at the threatened
revolt of a section of the Parliamentary
Party over the elevation of Mr. '%. J. G.
M'Girr to the leadership. On tbfev con
trary, there is every indication that it is ^
determined to proceed resolutely and, if
needs be, ruthlessly with the lino of action
already decided on.
- It was reported at Maedonnell House to
day that several members of caucus have
already complied with the executive's re
quest to communicate in writing their ac
ceptance of Mr. M'Girr as leader before
Friday next. Most of the others are ex
pected to follow.
An interesting piece of news which has
to st. come to light is the fact that the exe
cutive, in arriving at its decision on Friday
night night, was fortified wth a requisiton
urging Mr. M'Girr's appointment. This
was signed by a number of Labor mem
bers of eaueaps. At Maedonnell House Mr.
Dooley's political career is regarded as
ended. „_____ ?
