HOSPITAL COMMITTEE
MAY BE DISCHARGED
Noisy Meetings Disturb
Patients
MELBOURNE. February 20.
The committee of the Mildura Base
Hospital is in danger of being dis
charged by the Charities Board. In a
review of his recent visit to Mildura, the
Chief Inspector of the Charities Board
(Mr. C. L. McVilly) said that because
of the noisy nature of the committee
meetings, of which he had ample evi
dence. com»laint.-; had been received
that the patients bad been disturbed.
Mr. McViliys note stated that it might
be necessary for the board to take some
action for the discharge of the commit
tee unless the position improved. As
It was the chairman had difficulty in
controlling members, Mr. McVilly
added.
Mount Pleasant. — The Junior Red Cross ball
to be held in the Mount Pleasant Soldiers'
Memorial Hall on l^bruary 22 promises to be
a success. The arrangements are in the hands
ol the local Red Cross. Members of both
Voluntary Service detachments are arranging
for the supper.
