Mr. J. Darling Pleads For
Trust Fund For Cricketers
HOBART. Aueust 30.
A plea that the Board of Control
should establish a trust fund for the
benefit of oki-time cricketers was again
marie by Mr. J. Darling, M.L.C.. when
moving the adoption of the report and
balance sheet at the annual meeting
of the Tasmania Cricket Association
tonight. Mr. Darling said that the
States were not strong enough finan
cially to establish funds, and conten- j
ded 'that it would be practicable for liie |
Board of Control to set aside a percen- j
tage of the profits from Test matches
for a trust fund.
?There was an outcrv vftien I first re
tired from the game,' said Mr. Darlinjr. j
?but I could see that if I remained my
prospects in life would have been jeo
