CAR WRECKED
CRASHES INTO BITUMEN PLANT
Mount Gambier.
Mr. A. A. C. Cameron, of Wilson
street, and his son, Bruce (9) were
injured when their car crashed into a
road-making plant on the Bay-road,
near the Bellum Hotel, last night. They
were returning from a business trip late
at night, and Mr. Cameron saw a
red light on a bitumen machine on the
roadside. Swerving to avoid it, he
collided with a similar plant on the
other side. The boy was hurtled
through the windscreen and the driver
thrown to the roadway. A doctor found
it necessary to insert several stitches
in the boy's face and nose and also
in Mr. Cameron's band. The car,
which was completely wrecked, was not
insured.
