CAR'S CAREER DOWN
EMBANKMENT
Six Men Injured : Two
Seriously
LAUNCESTON, Sunday.
Six men were injured, two of
them seriously, when a motor car
failed to negotiate a bend on the
West Tamar road, about 12.30 a.m.
to-day, went down an embankment,
crashed through three fences,
turned over several times, and
came to rest in an upright
position.
Three of the men were found
unconscious by the occupants of a
following vehicle, and the six were taken
to the General Hospital in an
ambulance.
Those injured were:-
Edward William Sullivan, 8 Button
street, Launceston, injured spine;
condition serious.
Allen Hortle, of Latrobe, fractured
skull, concussion; condition serious.
Martin John Hogan, of Deloraine
injury to left shoulder and abrasions;
condition satisfactory.
Russell Broomhall, of Sheffield,
lacerated skull, injury to shoulder;
condition satisfactory.
Martin Gerald Welsh, 6 Henty street.
Launceston, and William Ross
McEwan, 6 William street, Launceston,
concussion, shock and abrasions;
condition satisfactory.
The motor car was travelling
towards Launceston, and the accident
occurred at Luck's Bend, about six
miles from the city.
