Clem. Butler (12), C.B. After-Cart
' Launceston (9/9/40), did not have th
expected visit from his little Bister Vcr
onica, for she "had to be in the fash
ion" and so developed mumps! Hi
mother stayed home with her, and hi;
dad visited him instead. Clem, knowi
that mumps is a painful complaint, foi
he had it himself while home, threi
months ago. He may be sent to St
Giles' soon, and thinks this will bi
a step nearer home. Ronnie Crowder
is Clem.'s best pal, and they do noi
like - the thought of being separated
although Clem, knows a lot of thc boy!
at St. Giles'. (You would bo disap
pointed at Veronica having mumps in
stead of seeing you, Clem, and so would
she! You will miss your friend Ron.,
but I do hope that the change to St
Giles' will set yon up and make you a
strong boy, ready to come home for al
ways.-Lorna Doone.)

received presents on her 9th birthdav

relatives and two little schoolmates.
(Yon would enjoy your daddy's sur

Sheila. It is a good resolve to deter
mine to gain top place in your class at
