FIVE-COURSE MEAL
1 FROM
DRIED INGREDIENTS
MELBOURNE, Wednesday. -
Eating under wartime conditions
was demonstrated to representa
tives of the Air Force, Army and
Navy at a luncheon at William
Angliss' trades cooking school to
day. Its object was to demonstrate
thu possibilities of using dried
meats, vegetables, fruit, etc., as
euiorgcucy rations for men, on act
ive service.
To-day's experiment was the result
of many months of research by the
principal of the school. Mr. West. The
result passed tho most optimistic ex
pectation. It was impossible to dis
tinguish between the dishes prepared
from tho dehydrated foodstuffs und
those prepared from fresh ingredients.
Tho'meal consisted of livo courses en
tirely prepared from dried meats, vege
tables, fruits, and cereal, with artificial
cream and army biscuits._
