Tennis Season:
This afternoon tho opening of !
tho Penguin Tennis Club will take place,
wheii thc Wardon (Cr. N. AV. Lade)
will officially opea the court for the
season, it is hoped a largo number
of members and friends will bc pre
sent. With several now members add
ed to thc list it is considered thc com
ing season should be very successful.

A special meeting and a gift
evening were held by tho Girls' Friend
ly Society on Thursday, to finalise thc
work for thc stall in connection with
tho spring fair, which is to be held
next Thursday. A large number of
useful and varied gifts woro received.
Supper was provided by Misses L.
Nolan, M. Quinn and N. Hales.
Funeral:
Thc funeral of thc infant sou
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hyde took
place at the Penguin cemetery on Tues
day. Thc burial service wns conduct
ed by thc lîev. H. S. Doylo in tho
presence of a number of relatives and
friends.
