Entertainment bj' Choir: I
the publie of Wynyard will be
thc guests of the Methodist choir to
night, when they mil be entertained with
an interesting and enjoyable programme
of musical elocutionary and vocal items
there will.be no charge for admission,
.but the.ladies ava. ashed to bring a bask
et. . .A .special invitation. is also exten
ded to old Sunday school scholars, who,
it ia hoped, will patronise the function.

into 2ft, lengths, to bo delivered nt the

Tn the Court, of Potty Sessions
yesterday morning, befqre Messrs. J.
Hiscwk and G. W. Hillston, J.'sP.. Wil
liam Beauchamp was charged with having
wilfully driven a motor ear over a. level
cros-sing on tho railway near the Seabrook
station when an engine was approaching
within a quarter of a. mile. Defendant
pleaded guilty. Sorgt. Carroll said Beau
champ crossed the line a very short dis
tance in front ol' un approaching train.
Défendant was lined Sf, with 10/ costs ,iu
default 48 hours' iiiim-imminent.

yesterday, Arthur Allen was charged with
exceeding thc speed limit while crossing
tiie intersections of Goldie and Jackson
streets on August 27. ¡lie pleaded, giulty.
and on the evidence ol Trooper Ivcllohor,
was lined 5/. with fi/ costs, in default. 48
lmiiv.s'' imprisonment. Stuart Beer, charged
with riding a bicycle on thc footpath at
East. "Wynyard on duly 2», pleaded not
guiltv. Évidence for the prosecution was
given by Sergt. Carroll. Détendant was
found guilty, and a conviction recorded.
Ho was nisn ordered to pay 1(1/ costs, in
default 48 hours. The same defendant was
charged with riding a bicycle after su usu l
on duly 27 without, a lighted lamp attach
ed. Beer pleaded not guilty, Sergt. Carroll
gave evidence in support ol the charge,
and a conviction was recorded, defendant
being ordered to pay the costs. Defendant
was allowed 14 days tn pay. Robert Henry
Lattimer, charged with rilling a motor
cycle over thc intersection of Goldie and
Jackson streets at a speed greater than
lt) miles an hour, entered, a plea ot guilty.
He was fined ¡5/, with 8/ costs, in default
.IS hours' imprisonment.
