Mrs. F. Phillips wife of Mr. Andy
Phillips, who is well-known in Pertn
sporting circles, returned south by the
Minderoo on Saturday night after hav
ing undertaken the round voyage to
Singapore. Mrs: Phillips was accom
panied by her sister (Mrs. Con
O 'Malley) whose husband is also a well- j
known sportsman, and by her mother, j
Mrs. Crcssey, who also resides in the |
metropolis. I

After a residence of seven years in I
Geraldton, Mr. Stan Pethick of the j
telegraph office of the railway depart
ment, will severe his connection with
the town this week. Mr. Pothick has
been transferred to Perth, and will
leave for the -city on Thursday. His
successor is Mr. J. B. Pascoc, of Guild
ford, who arrived in Goraldton last
week, and has already commenced his
new duties. '

Mr. J. T. Tandy, principal of tho
firm of Swan Brand Products Limited,
paid a hurried business visit to the
towu during the week-end and returned
to the city by the mail 'plane yester
day morning. Mr. Tandy, who is a
member of the Forth City Council, was
greatly impressed with the general ap
pearance of the town, and during his
brief stay took the opportunity of
visiting several of the tomato gardens
in closo proximity to Geraldton.

Mr. Stan Green, who lias been attach
ed to the staff of the Geraldton branch
of the CommonwealtLi Bank for the past
two and a half years, has received
notification of his transfer to the Hay
street branch West Perth, but will not
leave Geraldton until some time next
month. During his sojourn in the town
Mr. Green, has earned great popularity
both in his official capacity, and as a
citizen geuorally, and lit will be great
ly missed in sporting circles. He has
taken an active interest in several
branches of sport, in addition to which
he is prominently associated with the
Volunteer Fire Brigade movement,
having represented the brigade in the
competitions connected with the de
monstration at Easter time.
