AGBICDLTURAL AND HORTICUL
TURAL SOCIETY— PRODUCE SALES.
A committee meeting of the Agricultural
and Horticultural -Sociejty was held on
Friday. . There were present — Messrs.
Armstrong (in the chair), Urch,
Arundel, Wright, and the secre
tary. Two new members were -elected,
Messrs. G. Hymus and S. Crabbe. It
was resolved to issue a journal for the
society, quarterly, in order to keep the
society before tiie public. Messrs. F.
Davis and C. Wight were appointed dele
gates to represent the society at tbe con
ference to be held by tbe different societies
in the district regarding the national pro
ducers' show.
At Mr. Cope's sale on Saturday the fol
lowing prices were realised : — Eggs, Is 3d
to Is 4d doz ; beetroot, lid to Ijd ; cab
bages, £d 1b. ; ducks, 6s 6dfto 7s ; fowls, 5s
to 5s 3d pair. Drapery, jewellery, and
pot-plante brought good prices.
