Lieul.-C'olonel Amery was speaking
at lite luncheon of tho Imperial Council
ol! Commerce, discussing Empire trade.
Ho prefaced Iiis remarks by laying down

Ho. then produced the ligures show
ing that, tho value of tho excess ol:
manufactured goods and coal exported
from Britain, compared with similar
imports, amounted lo £32,000,000 in thc
ease: of. Europeau countries, and £08,
000,000 in the case of countries outside
Europe, as against £lö'n,QOO,000 worth
from tho Empiro ol! which, £77,000,000
worth came, from thc Dominions.
Referring to the magnitude ' of the
Dominions' (trade compared with their
population, Lieut.-Colonel Amery show-,
ed that Australasia bought .over £80,
000,000 worth of British goods last
year. Liout.-Colnnol Amery declared:
"One Australian or one New

can."
