A Stranuout Race. '
The Victorian Cycle Traders' Race, from
Ssle to Melbourne (121 miles), decided last
Saturday, proved the toughest race ot the yew,
as the 144 starters had to contend with a
?tiff head wind nracticsllv from start tn rlniih.
The event was the first long-dinUnc* cycling
contest held over ibis section of the Prince's
Highway, and attracted great interest along
the route. In a close finish C. B. Cameron
(30m.) won by a length from the old-time
Australian wheel race winner A. C. Colvin
(30m.), with V. W. Young (87m.) third. They
took 8h. 20m. 12a. to cover the ltl miles.
There was a great race for fastest time among
the scratch men, who at one period ot the
race looked like overhauling the long markers,
H. Opperman whining in 7h. 54m. 32i. The
riders named all rode Dunlop tyres. The seve
rity of the contest can be judged from the slow
tunes made, even the scratch men only ave
raged a shade over 15 miles per hour.
'Indian Scout' for Warrnambool Winner.

been issued for the Dunlop road race, from
Warrnambool to Melbourne (165 miles), to be
held on Saturday. October 27. The list com
prises an 'Indian Scout' motor cycle, _the
?'Warrnombool Cup.' nine bicycles, a B.8.A.
hammerless gun, £90 In cash, five sjold medsli.

for the Kew ZeaUnd and interstate test races,
which will decide the accredited representatives
for the 'Warrnambool.' The ract will be held
under the rules ot the League of Victorian
Wheelmen. Following is the complete list of

Company Proprietary, Limited; the 'Warmm-

that the position of cycles on the prise list has
no bearing on the relative value »f the machines;
the cycles are placed in the order in which they
were balloted for. It is understood that no
prize winner will receive two cycles.

While the Dunlop riders are pedalling their
way from Bum, the junior cyclists will contest
a race over two circuit* of the Hampstesd
course. The distance will be H miles. The
