RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN
FIGHT ON THE BYSTRITZA.
GENERAL IN DISGRACE.
PETROGRAD, September 14.
An official communique published in
Petrograd on Wednesday reports:
"In the region of Riga and Dvina
there has been enemy air activity.
Our fleet in the Baltic from
barded German trawlers in the Irben
Straits, and drove some of them ashore.
The enemy attempt to cross the Bystritza, to
the south of Ezupol, failed. Their attempts
to recapture the heights in the
wooded Carpathian region at Czerny and
Czeremosz were unsuccessful."
Pflanzer's Retirement.
A message received from Copenhagen
states that General von Pflanzer has retired
on the plea of ill-health.
The retirement of General von Pflanzer
is explained by the fact that he was heavily
beaten in Bukovina.
