Alleged Conspiracy.
Brisbane, Tuesday.
In the Supremo Court to-day, beforo the
Ohief Justice, James W. Henderson, who wns
arrested in Melbourne on the day of the
Victorian elections, waa charged with con
spiracy to defraud tho Queensland Rallwa
Dopartmont of a largo Bum in connection
with the alleged accident to J. R. Cnmpbell,
when the latter was supposed to havo fallen
out of a railway carriage near Toowoomba,
It will bo remembered that Campbell was.
recently sentenced to sovon years for
perjury in connection with tho same accident.
The prisoner was undefended.
Tho Crown Prosecutor, in opening tho case
to tho jury, said that the Crown could havo
placed Campbell In tho dock beside Hender
son, but they had not ohoson to do bo.- Ho

Campbell's alleged falling out of the train,
nnd to tha part taken by tho prisoner in
supporting Campbell's statement concerning
the carriage door suddenly swinging opon,

Moonoy, of tho Victorian police, know
Campbell for twonty years, and was photo
graphed with him (photo produced,) The

bourne, know Campbell, who was employed
iu Hint office in tlio nnmo of Dntyer, nnd
would also identify prisoner Henderson as
James Harris, who nfterwnrds claimed £1000
