COURSING.
By Campaigner.
A Regular Flyer.
Terminus, th -? speedy greyhound which
won the Australian, championship for
Messrs. Carter Brothers, of Wodonga, at
the Horsham enclosure, at the end of the
season, is described as a 'regular whirl
wind, and a demon for pace.' lie wing
all his courses, on the lead-up and the first
turn, and thereafter is liable to be out
worked by a dog with working ability. In
the champion be had a narrow escape in
the final with Humbug, as but for the
latter stopping when1 nearing the top end
of the ground the South Australian might
have placed himself in a winning position.
In two stakes Terminus was easily de
feated during the season by moderate per
formers, but he accounted for his other
stakes in brilliant fashion. The owners
also possess Ezic, the winner of the richly
endowed Victorian Waterloo Cup. so that
they have had a good feasori.^ They are
good betters-, and through their successes
took some thousands out of tbe ring.
Some Kennel Gossip.
Mr. .T. K. Andrew^, of Glenelg, first
took up the pastime of coursing about
four years ago. and he lias been fairly
successful in raising' flags. He has re
cently added to his kennels by the pur
chase of a promising dog puppy bred
by Mr. Ben Baker, of Queenstown, from
Busy Lass. The sire.- Silver Sheen, is a
litter brother to the brilliant Shady Spot,
winner of the V.C.C. Derby of B20. As
Silver Sheen was by Volum Ale ex Sigh
Softly there is nothing Jacking, on the
score of' breeding on the sire's side.
