FURTHER SHOWERS.
The following weather bulletin for South
Australia was issued at 9 o'clock last
night:— The disturbance mentioned in Fri
day night's report as passing over South
Australia was centred on Saturday morn
ing oil the south-west coast of Victoria,
and its influence had by then produced
further general light to moderate rain
over the agricultural areas of South Aus
tralia, with a few heavy falls in the cen
tral and Eyre's Peninsula divisions. Gene
ral light rain was also registered in wee
tern and central Victoria and extending
into parts of the Riverina, New South
Wales, while southern and western Tas
mania participated in similar precipita
tions. The low to the west was located
at 8.30 a.m. over the south-west interior
of Western Australia, and that State re
ceived further rains South from the tropic,
falls being mostly light to moderate in
character, except for some heavy amounts
in the south-west. During the interval be
tween the retreat of the eastern depres
sion and the advance of the latter system
from the westward, conditions became
temporarily fine away from the coast in
this State on Saturday afternoon, and tem
peratures ranged from 50 degrees at Stir
ling West to 7 degrees at Eucla, with the
highest and lowest readings in the city
as 60.8 and 49.6 degrees, and on Sunday
58.4 and 48.4 degrees respectively. By
Sunday morning the western Jow had also
passed to the east of this State, bring
ing a renewal of showery conditions, which'
were enhanced by the appearance of a
fairly energetic anticyclone over the south
western mainland of the continent. The
intermittent ^showers in Adelaide on TSun
day were productive of 37 points up to
9 p.m., while the data to hand in the
morning indicated substantial showers'
in at least- the central and south
eastern parts. The approach of the ener
getic high pressure system, the centre of
which is in more southern latitudes than
has been so recently, should maintain a
cool west and south-we^t wind circula
tion on Monday, with further showery
over the settled areas and squally condi
tions to. the south-east. . ;
