PLUMPTON COUESING.
SAPLINGS IN OOMPEiriTION.
The final coursing meeting of the season
was inaugurated at, the Plympton en
closure on Thursday, and ?will be con
cluded to-day. Chief interest was cen
tred in the three stokes provided for sap
lings. Tho outstanding feature |was the
brilliant form exh'ibitea by three Ebetern
Staw, all fi»m First Choice, and the Ka
fiunda enthusiasts, Messrs. Coles- and
McBean, look to have-bred some promising
puppies with this -combination. .The best is
probably Gbosen Star,' and he may 'win his
section, and his brothers, ? Eastern Chief
and First Star, between them look Ske
capturing the stake exclusively for dogs.
The bitches were well matched, but the
chances are that the -ivinner of the course
between Polly Max and Lady Hapale will
take the prize. The hitter is she first of
the Hapales to be tried, and sha dis
played plenty of pace and' eleverneas. The
remainder of the day's sport wks filled
in with the opening rounds of the Presi
dent's Pla:e, and a rather poor lot were
etripped. A better class will be seen to
day when the Farewell liate will come on
for decision. Details:-—
