third.
Race was a good betting
one with Belle Brocade at 5's,
Indemnity from 6's to 5's,
Lord Wold from lu's to Ts,
and Kearney 6's to 5's.
Kearney, as usual, set up a

strongly in the straight by
Prejudice
Kearney hung on better
than usual but was beaten
right near the post and nacl
to be content with third
place when Yulika dashed up
at the end to gain second.
Yulika has done most of
her racing in the country and
has only been unplaced a
couple of times this season, j
Prejudice won yesterday in
the colors of Kalgoorlie pub-
lican R. E. Brockman.
He won with her as a 2
year-old but later leased her
out tor 12 months and then
took possession of her for'
this season's racing.
Yesterday was her seventh,
start for the season and as
she had run second twice
recently she was certainly
due tor a win.
She is trained by E. C. Sul-
livan and her win was some
recompense to that trainer
for his unlucky second with
Remus in the first race.
