Cottesloe v. E. Fremantle Stars
'Ejist Fremantle Stars, not being satis
SfifQ with their posiöoii öa ' the. pranSer
ship list, challenged the premiers (Cot-
tesloe) to a matth for a £6 trophy, the
losers to pay. The match eventuated yes-
terday afternoon on the Fremantle Oval,
and stirred up a great deal, of enthusi-
asm. There were more than 1000 . sup-
porters present. to cheer their clubs on
to victory.
Both clubs sent into the field their
strongest teams, and the play on the
whole compared favorably with that of
many of the senior matches witnessed
this season ; several of the players gave
such a good account of themselves that
they must be watched for senior honors
j next season. In White, Cottesloe have
a promising goal getter, and he bagged
five of the goals. Ives, the ruck man, is
a second "Uiver" Dunn. Turnbull, Mor-
gan," Smythe, M'K.en?ie. Brown, Mason,
und Lewis were also conspicuous for the
visitors. Snarey, Heinrichs, E. Jose,
Robinson, Whittle and Solomon were the
mainstays of the Stars :
