THE REPAIRING OF A BRIDGE. .
Since ' repairs have been in operation to
Robinson Bridge, Port Adelaide, all traffic
to Commercial Wharf, Darling's. Wharf,
acd No. 1 Ouav has hid to cross' the river
at Fisher Bridge. The hindrance in mak
ing this detour is particularly, annoying.
Some time' ago a telegram was dispatched
to the Commiflsipner of Pubfic Works -by
the Marine Board, urging the hastening of
tie. completion of the work, but nearly a
month has elapsed and- no alteration has
taken place in the hours of working.'' So
far almost seven! weeks hive been occupied,
and it will be another month before the
job, which, it is asserted, could have been
done by a contractor, in three weeis, is
completed. Although there' is not now a
great while to wait; Def ore the bridge will
once more be ready for vehicular traffic, it
is hoped that operations will, in the mean
time, be pushed on a great deal more
auickly than formerly. \ '
