L.B.W. Decision Causes
Free Fight
SYDNEY, Sunday.— Three men received
treatment at tho -Canterbury Hospital yes
terday following a fight at the BelmoreEarl
wood Junior District cricket game. :
During Earlwood's innings a player dis- '
agreed with an l.b.w. decision, and is alleged
to have broken two stumps and abused tho
umpire who gave the decision. The batsman
was spoken to by n spectator, and a fight
followed, in which'* players and spectators
joined.
Earlwood players and spectators were out
numbered, and made for' their motor lorry.
When the crowd rushed the vehicle, a man
on it' made a hit at , one of them, over
balanced, mid fell into the crowd. He was
roughly handled, and the fight started afresh. .
Ambulance men stopped the trouble shortly
tefore the police- arrived; The 'Juni&r
Cricket Association will hold an enquiry. -
