under section 58 of "The Early Closing Act,
1911." I
I, the Honorable Hermann Homburg, the
Minister of Industry, the Minister to whom the
administration of "The Early Closing Acts, 1911
and 1912," has been committed by his Excellency
the Governor, having received a petition from a
majority of the aggregate number of shopkeepers
of, and shop assistants employed in or about or in
connection with shops of the Chemists' and Drug-
gists' Class, which- shops aro situate within the
Metropolitan Shopping District, praying that
shops of the said class shall cease to be exempted
within the said district and that the opening,
closing, reopening, and reclosing times of such
shops shall be the time* specified in the said
petition, and I having referred the said petition
to the Registrar for the said district, who has
certified that the said petition has been signed
by a majority of the shopkeepers of shops of the
class specified in the said petition which arc
situate in the Metropolitan Shopping District,
NOW I, the said Minister, hereby declare as
follows:- I
(1) That from and after the 30th day of Jurie, '
1913, all shops of the Chemists' and Drug-
gists' Class situate within the Metropolitan
Shopping District shall cease to he exempted
shops within the meaning and for the pur-1
poses of the said.Act«, and I
(2) That the opening, closing, reopening, and
reclosing times for all shops of the said class
situate within the Metropolitan Shopping i
District shall be as follows:
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and
, Thursdays (not being public holidays) the
closing times shall be 9 o'clock p.m. On
Fridays (not being public holidays) the
closing time shall be 10 o'clock p.m. I
On Saturdays (not being public holidays) the
closing time shall be 1.30 o'clock p.m. The
reopening time shall be 6.30 o'clock p.m.,
and the reclosing time shall be 10 o'clock
p.m.
On Sundays the opening time ' shall be 10
o'clock a.m., the closing time shall be 1
