BENEFIT TO MR. FRANK CATES.
Mr. Wybert Reeve has given the use of the
Theatre Royal for a benefit performance to
Mr. Frank Cates on the evening of Thursday,

first production in Australia of 'A Veteran
of Waterloo/'adaptedfrotn Dr.Oonan Doyle'a
story by Mr. Reeve, iu which Mr. Reeve, Mr.
Dan Murphy, Mr. Catua, Mi-n Bancroft!, Mi8»
Daniels, an-i Mia* Woodcock will appear. A
concert; will .tho be jjivon under tho direction
uf Mr. A. Wyatt Mortimer, in which Mr-s.
Oifihum, Mr. C. &1. Lau:nan«, and other well
known artists will appear. Mr. Hugh Eraser
will recittj 'Tam o' Shanter' with scenic
effect?, and the entertainment will conclude
with Offonbaoh's ' Los Deux Avengles,' in
?rhiob Mr. E*vg3 and Mr. Gates will take
part. Mr. Arthur Chapman has undertaken
the management, and all communications
