Weather Forecasts.
Issued 1. 15 D.m. Thursday. August 2.
South Australia (for twenty-four hours ending 6
p.m. August 3). — Fino generally, wi'h winds
becoming northerly and barometer^ beginning to
fall. A new disturbance is off the Leuwin, and
should affect our weather in a few days.
Messrs. C. M. & J. B. Muirheid have received the
following telegram from Mr. C. L. Wrasge, Bris
bane:— 'New storm named Ypd is approaching;
will affect South Australia wi'hin six days.'
New South Wales (by Mr. H. C. Itussell).
Continueit light westerly winds Fine generally,
except some showers on the high lands.
Victoria (by Mr. R. L. J. Ellery).— Moderately
fine, but more or less cloudy, and on coast and
ranges mistyshoweri. West and south- west winds.
Sea moderating in Straits.
General Remarks.
Rain since yesterday : — Western Australia—
Moderate to heavy on and near south-west coast—
Karridale, 0 910. South Australia— Very light over
most part; maximum— Tanunda, 0-355. Victoria
Light generally. Tasmania— Light in north. New
South Wales— Light in sontb. The disturbance b.is
now passed awny from the Tas-junian coast,
the high pressure has moved eastward
to New South Walts and Queensland, and
weather generally over south-eastern Australia
has moderated, and U now mostly fine. In tbe
west anew disturbance is showing up off the
Leuwin, and unsettled weatber is setting in over
the south-western portions of the continent. This
should be off our coast within a few ila-s, when
farther rains may be expected. Weather over the
interior and sortbern portions of the _ continent
is fine; but north of the continent — at Singapore —
weather is cloudy, and rain has fallen there during
the previous twenty-four hours.
