I-Iome Craftsmanship
Among the many curiosities which
Mr. Peter Sawyer has on board his
yacht Henrietta, now lying at Town
Pier, are two Spanish American
ponchos-garments resembling nar
row blankets with slits for the head
to pass through, and worn by cow
boys of the pampas. They are ex
cellent examples of homecrafts. The
whole process of manufacture
shearing, dyeing, spinning and weav
ing-goes on under the one roof, and
the sheep bearing the wool are
grazed on pastures surrounding the
house.
