QUEENSTOWN
LAVISH PRODUCTION
Considerable Interest is bclng dis
played in the staging of at lavish en
tertainment at the Capitol Theatre
shortly. A large company of local
amateur players are rehearsing nightly
lunder the supervision of two profes
sional producers from the mainland,
aul the ballet of 20 girls will in Itself
be an at traction. Altogether approxi
imately 60 performers will be In the
cast, and no less than 100 costullles
and eight sets of scnlnery are to be
hired from .Melbourne. It will prob
tibly be the mollt costly undertakllng
ever attempted In Queenstown anld,
judging by the enthusiasm of the par
ticipants, the show should be a suc
cess. The production, which will run
for three nights, will open on Tuesday,
April 20.

herds of Queenotown on Monday. It
is expected that they will be occupied
until Thursday, as about 100 cows are
to be tested in the licensed dairies
Ihrouughout the district. This visit
will possibly be the forerunner of
others fron this department.
